MCDOT-S is a safety-related digital output card for 16 signals. When used for safety functions, the output signals are read back and monitored for diagnostic purposes. It can also be used as a digital input and output card with 16 channels each, for control applications without SIL certification.

The card is based on two redundantly operating signal processors that monitor each other. Internal diagnostics, program execution control and signal diagnostics ensure an extremely high level of error detection.
